How We Do What We Do!
At Echo Trade/Marketing we spend over 20 hours per week sourcing what we like to call: CUTTING EDGE, products.
How that is done, is with the speed of email and next day courier around the world.
We source hundreds of trade books and manuals. We subscribe to countless website manufacturers online directories.
If we see a product we like, we ask for email information to be sent to us with full pictures and descriptions and technical specs as well.
Many times the product is so new, or the manufacturer is not proficient in English that we will only get partial information. When that happens we then put the pieces together and make our own flyer and product sheet on the item.
Then we pass that flyer out to our agents and distributors who regularly do business with us. We ask them what they think and what price points does that product need. They offer us excellent input, as they are in direct contact with retailers, and dealers and sometimes the public. So their ideas are very important, not only to us, but also in shaping the future of the product.
Then we will get in a small orders or samples. With next day courier and UPS and Fedex around the world, we can get samples relatively quickly.
Once the samples arrive, they are tested and the product further gets discussed in light of the flyer we made and the sample now in our hands.
Sometimes the packaging must be changed or the product name has to be changed - many times nothing has to be changed, it is just that the product has to be marketed now.
Now although we have many products, we are not a cash & carry wholesaler. We build orders for our clients and they are usually a mixture of any of our cutting edge new products and our exisiting products.
Each agent picks his or her own product (s) that they wish to market. With North America so large and the amount of new products that we keep finding, it does take a while for a new product to be seen everywhere - sometimes months! Not every agent will carry that particular item (even if he/she knows about it), because it might not fit in their portfolio or type of product they pitch. So, there are many products that are ready to go they just need representation.
